Domestic Violence Survivor Workshop

Feb. 28-29, 2020

This is a free event for anyone who would like to learn more about helping survivors of domestic violence and possibly creating a support group within your local congregation.  To help us plan for lodging and meals, please register before Jan. 1, 2020.

Speaker:

Michelle Markgraf is the Family Services Director at Kingdom Workers. She assists congregations and their schools as they work with survivors of sexual and domestic/dating violence. Michelle started working at Kingdom Workers last July, but her work with survivors began eight years ago.

The Lord’s words in Matthew 25, “Whatever you have done for the least of these…” led her to volunteer at the local rape and domestic abuse crisis center as an advocate in 2011. She then served on the crisis center’s board of directors and became its executive director in 2015. In 2018 she became an adjunct professor for the University of South Dakota, teaching a Family Violence class.

She and her family moved to New Ulm, Minnesota in 2019.
